The world of digital is continuously changing with quick advancements in technology year on year.
With new business strategies and ways, consumers can interact with content on sites and apps.
Sometimes more than physical staff,
This shift can’t be ignored.
In this post, I would like to share some of my 2018 predictions ranging from voice search to micro-moments.
So here are some predictions for digital marketing trends in 2018.
1. Advancements in voice search
Voice search is already accounting for 20% of overall searches, SEOs are already making this a big part of there new game plan. With major technology companies like Amazon, Google and Apple investing in virtual assistants and the AI technology. As this advances, it will become a vital part of a user’s journey.
With all this in mind, marketers need to improve their mobile-first strategies, to adapt to the voice-first marketplace. Voice search will impact the business of search marketing, and digital marketers should prepare for this evolution in search user interfaces.
2. Rise in niche-influencer marketing
There’s been an increase in influencer marketing on social media over the last few years.
This can be a very cost-effective way, for example, it can be roughly £750 per 100,000 followers, of reaching a highly engaged and relevant audience – if done correctly!
3. More companies investing in Live Chat
It’s a no-brainer that live chat will become an even more significant channel in 2018. We’ve seen a surge in B2B live chat interaction in 2017 with the likes of slack and the Beta of the Facebook workspace. Live chat has definitely proven itself as a high converting medium.
Businesses will put more agents online and be available outside of working hours.
4. A switch to a #nofilter community
At the end of 2017, you could see users were tired of highly photoshopped media. With this ever-growing, fake news in 2018 brands will realise authenticity is vital.
Content is more genuine, Getting rid of the airbrushing culture with an added touch of a live video trend and real-life content.
Brands who are ready to grow and expand will take more of a look at the bigger players and will be a lot more aware of how to target everyone, blurring the gender divide & sexuality taboo.
While I can’t predict the exact future or what will happen in 2018,
I am excited to see what new trends & technology will be available in the digital marketing industry.
